Description
Inside the Greenland National Museum and Archives, well-preserved mummies (6). These are the approximately 500 years old Qilakitsoq mummies. In 1972,two brothers on a hunt found them north of Disko Bay, in the Uummannaq region. There were 6 women and two children, including a six-month-old baby boy, all of whom were fully dressed.
Not visible in this photo, but during the excavation, of the qilakitsoq mummies, just as in Ancient Egypt, tools and supplies were found for a long journey into the life after death.
