Description
Inside the Greenland National Museum and Archives, well-preserved mummies (7). These are the approximately 500 years old Qilakitsoq mummies. In 1972,two brothers on a hunt found them north of Disko Bay, in the Uummannaq region. There were 6 women and two children, including a six-month-old baby boy, all of whom were fully dressed.
What is noticeable in this photo, is how the hands were placed on the chest of the deceased.
