Description

In the religion or mythology of the Inuit, goddess Sedna is the mother of the sea and master of animals in general, and of marine mammals in particular. This goddess is also known by other names, such as Amakuagsak or Amarquagssaq (Inuit from Greenland) and Nerrivik or Nuliajuk (Inuit from around King William Island off the Canadian coast). She is sometimes depicted as ,half woman, half fish, with a tail of a white dolphin. The asteroid Sedna (90377), is named after her and was discovered on November 14, 2003.
